Basketball Recap: Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue Comes Up Short

Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue lost against Riverdale Baptist two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Crusaders are ranked 15th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverdale Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Kitchens, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Cannon Greene, who earned eight points and seven rebounds.

Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Riverdale Baptist, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue has already played their next game, a 70-64 victory against Sandy Spring Friends on the 31st. As for Riverdale Baptist, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-45 loss against Highland on the 30th.
