Recap: Carlin Railroaders vs. Jackpot Jaguars

The Carlin Railroaders can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Jackpot by a score of 27-17. The win was just what Carlin needed coming off of a 45-7 defeat in their prior matchup.

Carlin can attribute much of their success to Caileigh Shilts, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Shilts scored 15 or more points. Mariah Urenda was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five steals.

Carlin's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10. As for Jackpot, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlin will take on Round Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackpot won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Owyhee at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th.
