Baseball Recap: Slocum Mustangs vs. Neches Tigers
Slocum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Neches Tigers, falling 11-4. One positive for the Mustangs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Slocum saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braedon Lindsey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. Ayden Sarraf also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Even though they lost, Slocum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Looking ahead, Slocum will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Apple Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Slocum has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Neches, they will be taking part in a tournament against Avery at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Avery has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.6 runs per game on average), something Neches will no doubt try to take advantage of.
