Nelson Island falls despite strong effort from Brennan Lincoln

On Saturday, the Nelson Island Islanders faced the Chief Paul Memorial Falcons in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Nelson Island took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chief Paul Memorial. Nelson Island's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Nelson Island lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brennan Lincoln. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points. Lincoln continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nate Nelson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Nelson Island's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Chief Paul Memorial, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Nelson Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chief Paul Memorial's road trip will continue as they head out to face Chaputnguak at 9:30 p.m. on January 27th. Chaputnguak and Chief Paul Memorial are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
