Basketball Recap: Washburn Takes a Loss

Washburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 76-53 to the Cosby Eagles. The Pirates lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 105-43 score last time.

Despite the loss, Washburn still got an impressive performance from Matthew Harville, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. Dillon Mullins was another key player, putting up 14 points and five boards.

Washburn's record is now 4-11. As for Cosby, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washburn has already played their next matchup (against Union County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cosby has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against North Greene.
