Basketball Recap: Harding Academy Lions vs. St. George's Gryphons
The Harding Academy Lions were the 62-32 winner over the St. George's Gryphons when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Harding Academy took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gryphons on Tuesday. Harding Academy's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Harding Academy saw an underclassman step up: Bella rose Austin scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Smith, who scored ten points.
Harding Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for St. George's, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Harding Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Defenders at 6:00 p.m. As for St. George's, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lynx at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
