With a playoff win on the line, Warren Central rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Grenada Chargers 8-2. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Nathaniel Moore tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Blake Caruthers was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayes Loper, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Warren Central's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Grenada, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-11-1.

Warren Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
