St. Dominic is 2-8 against North Yarmouth Academy since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Saints will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. St. Dominic will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
St. Dominic is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Mount Abram 19-12 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Madeline Andrews made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Olivia Tapley was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Cassidy Russell also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
St. Dominic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
North Yarmouth Academy let Sacopee Valley stack ten runs on them in the third inning on Tuesday but luckily North Yarmouth Academy prevailed anyway. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Hawks 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since April 23rd.
North Yarmouth Academy got a big performance out of Mia Desgrosseilliers, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Caroline Matusovich was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
St. Dominic's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for North Yarmouth Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
Both St. Dominic and North Yarmouth Academy just can't seem to miss. The Saints have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. However, it's not like North Yarmouth Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Dominic beat North Yarmouth Academy 10-6 in their previous meeting last Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
