The home team had won the previous five meetings between Ripley and Herbert Hoover, and Herbert Hoover kept the tradition alive. The Vikings fell 2-0 to the Huskies on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost eight in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-13.

Despite the loss, Ripley still got an impressive performance from Delaney Howery, who had 14 digs and one assist. Howery is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Leading Herbert Hoover to victory were Olivia Huddleston and Ahaziah Smith. Huddleston had five digs and three aces, while Smith had three aces and two blocks. That's the most aces Huddleston has posted since back in August.

Ripley's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Herbert Hoover, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Ripley and Herbert Hoover will both be playing St. Albans the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the Red Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Huskies will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
