With a playoff win on the line, Cardinal Newman rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Ben Lippen Falcons 5-2. The result was nothing new for Cardinal Newman, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Ben Lippen with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Tanner Battafarano (2), Chase Nelson, Elam Blalock, and Dakota Venugopal.

Cardinal Newman has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 40 goals over those nine matches. As for Ben Lippen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Coming up, Cardinal Newman will be playing at home against Porter-Gaud at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Porter-Gaud will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Cardinal Newman surely won't give up without a fight. Ben Lippen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
