Basketball Recap: Crystal City Falls Despite Big Games from Molly Reiter and Addison Bova

After flying high against Hancock last Thursday, Crystal City came back down to earth. The Crystal City Hornets fell 66-59 to the Oak Ridge Blue Jays on Tuesday. The Hornets' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Addison Bova and Molly Reiter certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Bova went 11 for 21 en route to 33 points, while Reiter went 8 of 19 on her way to 22 points. The matchup was Bova's fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Oak Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Reagan Howe out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madyson Ruehling, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards.

Crystal City's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Oak Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Crystal City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-35 defeat against Grandview on the 23rd. Oak Ridge has also already played their next game, a 63-46 win against Scott County Central on the 22nd.
