Basketball Recap: Comer Tigers vs. Central of Coosa County Cougars
The Comer Tigers and the Central of Coosa County Cougars squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly the Comer Tigers had to settle for second. They took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. Comer's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Central of Coosa County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jerquesha Heard, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 21 rebounds, and nine blocks. Heard continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Queen Ballard, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds.
Comer's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Central of Coosa County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Comer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central of Coosa County also has no future games currently scheduled.
