Powell County waltzed into their match on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Perry County Central Commodores by a score of 5-1. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Commodores on May 8th, they had to take a 10-0 loss.

Lacy Dicken spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carter Poe, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Levi Wells, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

The victory got Powell County back to even at 16-16. As for Perry County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-20.

As of now, neither Powell County nor the Commodores have any future games scheduled.
