Baseball Recap: Warren East Takes a Loss

Warren East was the 15-0 winner over McLean County when they last played one another back in April of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders came up short against the Cougars on Saturday, falling 7-1.

Warren East got a good showing from Brooks Vincent, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Vincent has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kavien Hinton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Dane Parsley was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Warren East has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for McLean County, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Looking ahead, Warren East is taking a road trip to square off against Glasgow at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for McLean County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Henderson County at 5:30 p.m.
