Braxton Baldwin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Barrett McKenney and Gage Smith did most of the damage at the plate: McKenney scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Smith scored three runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits Smith has posted since back in April of 2024. Bryce Williams also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Park Place Christian Academy entered their match against Manchester Academy last Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Park Place Christian Academy came up short against Manchester Academy, falling 11-3.

Park Place Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Simpson Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

Simpson Academy took their victory against Park Place Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Simpson Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
