Basketball Recap: Greenville Green Wave vs. Arcanum Trojans
Greenville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 63-47 fall against the Arcanum Trojans on Saturday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Greenville still got an impressive performance from David Conway, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.
Arcanum got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Ball out in front who shot 67% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Ball is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 60% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Ben Hamilton was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Arcanum has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Greenville and Arcanum will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Green Wave are set to face off against their familiar foe Butler at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Arcanum will take on rival Ansonia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
