Softball Recap: Living Water Homeschool Falls to Indianapolis Bishop Chatard in First Game of Season

Living Water Homeschool had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans by a score of 10-9 on Monday. The Marlins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Makenzie Hicks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Carpenter, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Coming up, Living Water Homeschool will head out on the road to square off against Guerin Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, they will take on Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
