Basketball Game Preview: Hanover Wildcats vs. Clifton-Clyde Eagles

The Hanover Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Clifton-Clyde Eagles on Tuesday. One thing working in Hanover's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.

Last Friday, Hanover came up short against Axtell and fell 69-57. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Clifton-Clyde waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 55-40 win over the Mustangs. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clifton-Clyde pushed their record up to 10-5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Hanover, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Hanover beat Clifton-Clyde 58-48 in their previous matchup back in January. Does Hanover have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clifton-Clyde turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
