Basketball Game Preview: Carbondale Area Chargers vs. Valley View Cougars

Carbondale Area hasn't had much luck against Valley View recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Carbondale Area Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Valley View Cougars at 6:30 p.m.

Carbondale Area is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. The game between them and Lackawanna Trail didn't end well, with Carbondale Area falling 54-35.

Meanwhile, Valley View put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past West Scranton 66-34. The Cougars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Valley View's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26 points. As for Carbondale Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Carbondale Area was taken down by Valley View 57-26 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Carbondale Area avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
