Perez came up big in Dekaney's 14-1 win
Jonathan Perez was dynamite on Tuesday, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his eighth in a row with more than five strikeouts. On the year, Perez has an ERA of 1.41 over 49.7 innings pitched.
Perez's strong effort led Dekaney over Nimitz and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dekaney is 8-1 against Nimitz going back to March of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
