Softball Recap: Cedarville Comes Up Short

Cedarville was the 12-10 winner over Brimley when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bays on Wednesday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shelby Sayles led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Marrah Grigsby was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Cedarville's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-7. As for Brimley, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Cedarville will look to defend their home field on Monday against Mackinaw City at 4:30 p.m. As for Brimley, they will head out to face off against Sault Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
