Volleyball Recap: South Point Comes Up Short

South Point lost against Portsmouth West back in October of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Pointers fell just short of the Senators by a score of 3-2. The Pointers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Point started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-29, 19-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-8.

Molly Adams paced South Point's offense, picking up 18 kills. Adams got some help from Gracie Carmon and her 38 assists. Lakhai Howard controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Hailey Carver was a one-woman wrecking crew For Portsmouth West. as she had 47 digs. Those 47 digs gave Carver a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayleigh Pistole, who had 27 digs.

South Point now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Portsmouth West, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

South Point has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Ironton on the 28th. As for Portsmouth West, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oak Hill at 5:30 p.m.
