Memphis Business Academy snaps six-game streak of wins on the road

It was a good run, but the Memphis Business Academy Execs unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Douglass, falling 85-58. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Memphis Business Academy in their matchups with Douglass: they've now lost six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Memphis Business Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Teryck White. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jay'lon Hopson, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.

Douglass' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarmon Brittman, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brittman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taquez Butler, who scored 19 points.

Memphis Business Academy's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. As for Douglass, their win was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memphis Business Academy on the road again on Monday and play against KIPP Collegiate at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. KIPP Collegiate will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Memphis Business Academy is ranked 66th). As for Douglass, they will head out on the road to challenge Trezevant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
