Basketball Game Preview: Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks vs. Air Academy Kadets

The Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks will head out to square off against the Air Academy Kadets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cheyenne Mountain will be strutting in after a win while Air Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Cheyenne Mountain will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Lewis-Palmer, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Cheyenne Mountain walked away with a 57-47 victory over Lewis-Palmer on Friday.

Meanwhile, Air Academy suffered their closest defeat since January 29, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Discovery Canyon by a score of 53-51. The Kadets haven't had much luck with the Thunder recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Air Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Cheyenne Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over Air Academy when the teams last played back in January, winning 59-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cheyenne Mountain since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
