Basketball Recap: Buckhorn's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Monday

Buckhorn won the last time they faced Grissom and things went their way on Monday too. The Buckhorn Bucks walked away with a 46-38 win over the Grissom Tigers. Given the Bucks' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Tigers are ranked 98th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Buckhorn's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. As for Grissom, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Buckhorn will be taking part in a tournament against Cordova at 3:40 p.m. on Friday. As for Grissom, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Whitesburg Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitesburg Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Grissom likes a good challenge.
