Football Recap: Unicoi County Starts off Right with Win over David Crockett + How To Watch

Unicoi County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took down the David Crockett Pioneers 27-13. The score was all tied up 13-13 at the break, but the Blue Devils were the (much) better team in the second half.

Unicoi County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kolby Jones led the charge by throwing for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes, while also rushing for 82 yards on only 11 carries. That's the most rushing yards Jones has posted since back in October of 2024. Blaze Rice was another key back, rushing for 144 yards and a pair of scores.

Unicoi County didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited David Crockett to a completion percentage of just 42.9%.
