Softball Recap: Eustis' Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Eustis had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Windermere Wolverines. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by just one run.

Carson Roden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Eustis let Brooklynn Mason and Emmy Luke run wild. Mason went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Luke scored a run while going 2-for-2. Mason is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Scott, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Eustis hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

Eustis' record now sits at 14-4. As for Windermere, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eustis will welcome South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Windermere, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Buena Vista at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vipers have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
