Volleyball Recap: East Lawrence Comes Up Short + How To Watch

East Lawrence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Danville Hawks. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 25-13.

Macey Austin paced East Lawrence's offense, picking up 15 kills. Austin were helped by Cheyenne Hackett and Bree Kirby, who contributed 14 assists each. Austin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

East Lawrence now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Danville, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.

Looking ahead, East Lawrence will welcome Phil Campbell at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Danville has already played their next game (against Winston County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
