Softball Recap: Holy Cross Victorious

Holy Cross won the last time they faced Beechwood and things went their way on Friday too. The Indians came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Evie Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zoey Baker was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Rieselman, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Holy Cross now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Beechwood, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will welcome Lloyd Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Beechwood, they will host Boone County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
