Basketball Recap: West-Oak Drops Highest Score of Season Against Greenville Tech Charter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West-Oak). They breezed by the Greenville Tech Charter Warriors to the tune of 87-39 on Saturday. With that win, West-Oak brought their scoring average up to 53 points per game.

West-Oak's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kinady Marcengill, who went 13 of 21 en route to 27 points along with six assists and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Simpson, who went 10 for 15 on her way to 25 points.

Marcengill wasn't the only one working in the assists department: West-Oak was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Greenville Tech Charter lost, don't look at Gracyn Schreel. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points. The dominant performance gave Schreel a new career-high in points. Alacyea Killingsworth was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

West-Oak's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

West-Oak wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 47-30 victory against Easley on the 30th. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-41 win against Liberty on the 30th.
