Softball Recap: Hamburg Drops Season-High Score on Watson Chapel

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hamburg). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Watson Chapel Wildcats a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Hamburg got a massive performance out of Melody Miller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Miller a new career-high. Another player making a difference was E Tubbs, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Hamburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hamburg's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-11. As for Watson Chapel, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Hamburg will face off against Star City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Watson Chapel, they will square off against Hot Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
