Softball Game Preview: Gloversville Huskies/Dragons vs. Hudson Falls Tigers

Gloversville is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against the Hudson Falls Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Neither Gloversville nor Hudson Falls posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Gloversville came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-1 to Saratoga Central Catholic. The Huskies/Dragons have struggled against the Saints recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Hudson Falls' offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glens Falls on Monday. The loss put an end to the Tigers' undefeated start to the season.

Anna Winter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hudson Falls fell to 2-1. As for Gloversville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Gloversville suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Hudson Falls in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Huskies/Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
