Baseball Game Preview: St. Francis de Sales Knights vs. Northview Wildcats

St. Francis de Sales has gone a perfect 3-0 against Northview recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Knights will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.

St. Francis de Sales had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Philip Simmons on Wednesday. The Knights blew past the Iron Horses 13-7.

Brady Mitchey was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Drew Tucker was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, while Northview put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Evergreen. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Charlie Paulson was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Peace, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

The victory got Northview back to even at 1-1. As for St. Francis de Sales, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

St. Francis de Sales beat Northview 8-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
