Baseball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Takes a Loss

Mt. Pleasant and Fairfield pushed the score to 10-9 the last time they played Fairfield, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Panthers fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-1. The Panthers have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Fairfield, their victory bumped their record up to 20-8.

Mt. Pleasant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairfield, they will square off against Pella on Monday. The Dutch's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
