Baseball Recap: Gig Harbor Tides vs. Mercer Island Islanders

Gig Harbor and Mercer Island squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Gig Harbor had to settle for second. They lost 13-1 to the Mercer Island Islanders. Gig Harbor was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mercer Island apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

For Mercer Island's part, Tyler Gilroy made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Gilroy was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, a stolen base, and a run.
