Preview: Gloucester vs. Phoebus
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Phoebus. They will challenge Gloucester on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Phoebus don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Phoebus got themselves on the board against Hampton last Saturday, but Hampton never followed suit. Phoebus took the match and then some with a 36-0 win over Hampton. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Phoebus had established a 20-0 advantage.
Meanwhile, their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Gloucester, but their most recent contest may have softened the blow. They took their contest against Menchville 20-13.
Phoebus didn't have too much trouble with Gloucester the last time the two teams met as they won 27-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Phoebus since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
