Richland (Johnstown, Pa.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat
Penn Cambria (Cresson, Pa.), 28-0, on Saturday.
The Rams were up 15-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Matt Shaffer touchdown pass to
Luke Shertzer in the first quarter.
Richland expanded its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. RHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by Shaffer to Shertzer.
With the win the Johnstown school extended its winning streak to 11 games. The Rams defeated the Blue Devils 14-7 last week.
Shaffer stood out for Richland in the win. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
RHS went into the matchup giving up only 9.8 points per game. The Panthers' zero points were well below their season average of 25.2 per game.
The Rams got revenge for last year's 32-24 loss to Penn Cambria with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Penn Cambria, which notched a 16-14 victory over Somerset in its previous outing. The loss snapped PC's 2-game winning streak.
