Baseball Recap: Marshall Triumphs

Marshall won the last time they faced Lincoln and things went their way on Friday too. The Barristers walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Barristers.

Valentin Garcia got the start for Marshall and what a start it was: he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

At the plate, Joshua Beltran was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Marshall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Marshall back to even at 7-7. As for Lincoln, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Marshall didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Palisades on the 11th. As for Lincoln, they have also already played their next game, a 6-2 defeat against Franklin on the 15th.
