Basketball Game Preview: Josey Eagles vs. Thomson Bulldogs

Josey hasn't had much luck against Thomson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Josey Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Thomson Bulldogs at 8:30 p.m.

Josey is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt an 80-37 loss at the hands of Burke County. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while the Bears are ranked 165th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thomson). Everything went their way against Glenn Hills on Tuesday as Thomson made off with an 80-55 victory.

Josey better keep an eye on Markevion Jones. He was instrumental in Thomson's win, putting up 33 points. Jaris Sinkfield was another key player, earning 11 points.

Josey's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Thomson, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Josey was taken down by Thomson 83-41 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Josey avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
