Colby had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They strolled past the Beloit Trojans with points to spare, taking the game 48-30. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Trojans are ranked 109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beloit lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Addison Budke, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. Budke is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Cassandra Thompson was another key player, putting up four points.

Colby pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Beloit, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Colby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 0-0 draw against Hays on the 25th. As for Beloit, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wellington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
