Recap: Olympus Titans vs. West Panthers

The Olympus Titans fought the good fight in their overtime match against the West Panthers on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 84-74 to the Panthers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (66), Olympus still had to take the loss.

Olympus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tessa Cromar, who scored 21 points along with four steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Joss Baker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Olympus were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West only racked up 21 assists.

West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Fina Tuha led the charge by dropping a triple-double on 21 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. Those ten steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydence Falatea, who shot 9-for-12 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds.

Olympus has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for West, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Brighton the next time they take the court. West will host Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Olympus will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
