Charlie Barker put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March of 2024 on Tuesday. He wasn't messing around, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). The pitching appearance was his eighth straight with one or fewer hits.

Barker's strong effort led North Central over Lawrence Central and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers are 8-2 against the Bears going back to May of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
