It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Wayne County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 28-22 win over the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Wayne County was led to victory by Case Butler and Avery Vaughn. Butler rushed for 62 yards and three TDs, while Vaughn rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown.
Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braxton Howard, who threw for 317 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 74.2% of his passes.
