Baseball Recap: Banning Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Banning lost a heartbreaker the last time they played North Hollywood, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's match. The Pilots were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Huskies on Saturday. For the Pilots, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Huskies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Angelo Duarte and Isaac Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Duarte went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, while Martinez went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three runs gave Duarte a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Camejo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Banning kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive games.

Banning pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for North Hollywood, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Banning will head out to challenge Rancho Dominguez at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lobos will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Pilots surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Hollywood, they are taking a road trip to take on San Fernando at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
