Soccer Game Preview: California vs. Valley Christian

The California Condors will take on the Valley Christian Defenders in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. California's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

California's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Pioneer out 1-0. Given the Condors' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Titans are ranked 574th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian and Mayfair finished up their match with a 0-0 draw on Thursday.

Valley Christian's draw makes their record 3-6-2 this season. As for California, their win bumped their record up to 4-1-1.

California skirted past Valley Christian 1-0 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Does California have another victory up their sleeve, or will Valley Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
