Recap: Stratford Academy Eagles vs. Strong Rock Christian Patriots
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Stratford Academy Eagles can now relate to. They fell 21-12 to Strong Rock Christian on Friday. Stratford Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Strong Rock Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.
Leading Strong Rock Christian to victory were Jalen Berry and Dawson Webb. Berry rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown, while Webb rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Webb was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards.
Stratford Academy bumped their record down to 5-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.8 points per game. As for Strong Rock Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Stratford Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Strong Rock Christian is on the road again on Friday and play against First Presbyterian Day at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th.
