Basketball Recap: Frontier Comes Up Short

Frontier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Orange Lutheran Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 607th, while the Lancers are ranked 162nd).

When it comes to explaining why Frontier lost, don't look at Zach Garnett. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. That was a full 37% of Frontier's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kai Wilkins, who had six points and five boards.

Frontier's record now sits at 4-9. As for Orange Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Frontier didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-54 loss against Liberty on the 27th. As for Orange Lutheran, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-45 defeat against Bishop Montgomery on the 27th.
