Basketball Recap: Lapwai's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Lapwai was feeling good fresh off their 64-27 takedown of Potlatch last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lapwai Wildcats were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 43-42 to the Kamiah Kubs. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lois Oatman and Madden Bisbee certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Oatman dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards, while Bisbee posted 13 points. The dominant performance gave Oatman a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andraeana Domebo, who earned seven points.

Emma Krogh was her usual excellent self, putting up 26 points and five boards for Kamiah. Kelsee Hunt was another key player, scoring eight points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Lapwai's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-3. As for Kamiah, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Lapwai has already played their next match (against Logos), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kamiah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-40 victory against Kendrick on the 25th.
