Basketball Recap: Chapman Comes Up Short

Chapman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 51-23 loss at the hands of the Abilene Cowboys. While losing is never fun, the Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Cowboys are ranked 72nd).

Chapman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Abilene, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Chapman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Abilene, they will challenge Rock Creek on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Abilene has won 18 straight at home dating back to last season, while Rock Creek won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
