Volleyball Recap: Los Angeles Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

Los Angeles Leadership Academy lost against Rise Kohyang on March 3rd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lions fell just short of the Tritons by a score of 3-2. The Lions' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Los Angeles Leadership Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-13, 24-26, 14-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Marcos Baltazar paced Los Angeles Leadership Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Baltazar got some help from Daniel Duarte and his eight assists. Finally, Baltazar was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Rise Kohyang was led to victory by Elvis Garcia and I Joey. Garcia had four digs and two aces, while Joey had five aces and one block. That's the most aces Joey has posted since back in April of 2024.

Los Angeles Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Rise Kohyang, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Los Angeles Leadership Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Alliance Bloomfield on the 28th. As for Rise Kohyang, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus on the 2nd.
